    Ugandan notable female singer Sheebah Karungi Ssamali also known as Queen karma has set her fans' tongues waging after revealing that she has plans of retiring from the music industry.

    While taking part in an interview with a local radio station, the former Team No Sleep singer spoke on a number of issues including her future plans and aspirations for her music career.

    Over the years, Sheebah has been one of the female artists who have dominated Uganda's music industry, released several hit songs and she has undoubtedly made a significant impact on the Ugandan music scene. However, despite her success, she believes that there is still more to achieve and dreams yet to be fulfilled.

     

    In a video clip accessed by the reporter, Sheebah expressed her intention to gradually slow down her workload as she approaches the age of 40. 

    The ice cream hit maker aims to reduce her current commitments by 50%, allowing herself more time for personal endeavours and other interests outside of music.

     

    Looking further ahead, Sheebah plans to further decrease her workload to just 20% by the time she turns 45.

     

    This decision is driven by her desire to establish multiple revenue streams that will support her financially without solely relying on stage performances. She understands the importance of diversifying her income and building a sustainable future for .

    The singer emphasized that she is actively working towards this goal, facing the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur. She acknowledges that the journey may not always be smooth, but she remains determined to build her career even during tough times.

    While Sheebah Karungi’s retirement from singing may not be immediate, her subtle suggestion hints at a future where she will gradually transition away from the music industry.

    She plans to focus on establishing herself as a successful entrepreneur and securing her financial stability through various ventures.

    About Sheebah Karungi's music career

    According to the publicly available information, Sheebah started her career at the age of 14 as a dancer after she joined a dance group called Stingers before she left the group for Obsessions Music Group in 2006.

    While at Obsessions, it is reported that she developed an interest in music, recording two songs before she left the group for a solo career in music.

    She released her first official single in 2010 dubbed "Kunyenyeza".She went on to release another song titled "Bulikyekola", featuring vocals from KS Alpha and Prince Fahim and then "Baliwa" featuring Coco Finger. It was until she released "Automatic", a song written by Sizzaman, that her solo career experienced a major turnaround. 

    Upon the success of "Automatic", she teamed up again with Sizzaman to release "Ice Cream" to massive airplay and positive reviews before she went on to release another hit single, "Twesana".

    In 2014, she released her first musical project, Ice Cream, a five-track EP which contained hit singles including "Ice Cream" and "Jordan". The EP was well received and helped win her Best Female Artist at the 2014 and 2015 HiPipo Music Awards.

    Her second project was titled Nkwatako.

    In 2016 and 2018, she held Nkwatako and Omwoyo concerts respectively at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
