Considered one of their first hit songs, Zuena was a master piece. Not Zuena the person (Bebe Cool’s wife) although it was indirectly addressing her.
The song has a lot of similarity to Psqaure’s “No one like you” in terms of its beat and this is because the boys of Psquare allowed Radio and Weasel to actually reuse their beat.
One would wonder how Psquare got to know our local Ugandan artistes but yes it happened and it was Paul Okoye of the group that wondered why a certain song was being overplayed in clubs while he was in Rwanda in 2008.
Paul then asked around to see who actually owns this lovely song titled, “Nakudata” that he fell in love with and that is how he got Radio’s number from a certain DJ and this is because hw was specifically interested in Mowzey Radio.
He called the phone number and another person picked up, obviously the case when one calls a musician but then later the phone was handed to Radio and this is where the two talked as Paul introduced himself which shocked Radio initially because he was also star struck.
Paul then arranged plane tickets for Radio and Weasel right away since even flight time to Rwanda is less than an hour from Uganda and that is how Radio and Weasel got there and met Psqaure.
This Zuena song was produced shortly after the Rwanda Gig and was a massive hit in Uganda to the extent that it won Best Afro Beat Single at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards, 2008 but however some people did not like it for example Bebe Cool who turned it into beef since the song was praising his wife.
