Rebecca Kadaga has come out to make it clear she does not want the position of Vice president.
Many of the MPs are saying she should go for that position and leave the position of speaker to someone else.
" Vice president means I don't do any work because you are simply a vice to someone. When I am speaker, I have power, power I can use to change this place."
Some MPs have said many don't want to vote for of her because of 2017 incident where SFC officers came and harassed MPs during the age limit bill.
She was suspected of conniving with the executive.
" I had nothing to do with that. I wrote a letter to the president to explain what happened and who should be held accountable for undermining the parliament of Uganda."
MPs from the Busoga region are discouraging the former speaker to accept the position of Vice president saying it will be a form of betrayal to the Busoga region.
"If I am offered the position of Vice president, I will reject it." She promised.
This was a meeting held at Hotel Africana that had all the MPs from the Busoga region coming together to see how Rebecca Kadaga can win for the third time for the position of speaker.
If she wins, she will be the longest serving speaker of parliament serving for 15 years.
