Bamuturaki Jennifer was appointed as CEO of Uganda Airlines without applying for the job according to her own confession. She didn’t have the required postgraduate qualification and she claims that her O Level Pass slip got lost and even had no University transcript for her Social Works and Social Administration course which she claims she never picked up when she graduated in from Makerere University 28 years ago.
Her employment status has caused very many unsettled opinions as many are dissatisfied with the way she landed this massive job even without her transcript as evidence of a proper education. It has caused a great stir, most especially in the opposition side as many are against her keeping her job.
Joel Ssenyonyi was one of the people who came out with a lot of anger towards this appoinent as he maentioned that she was not meant to be in that position. He tweeted that he was recieving death threats from Col Tom Butime and promising not to back down on his job probing the appointment of Jennifer Bamuturaki.
In response to this tweet, Events organiser Balam Barugahara came out and said that Bamuturaki was appointed by ‘God’s angel’ in Uganda and therefore no one including Ssenyonyi, can or will remove Bamuturaki from her office. He added that she’ll occupy that office until she feels she no longer wants the job.
Balaam took things a notch higher when he promised to lead a campaign to call for increase of her salary from 87 Million Uganda shillings.
"You will do nothing. She will remain in office as long as she is interested. We will even demonstrate for her salary increment. She was appointed by God's Angel in Uganda." Balam
