    "Hon Cissy Namujju will be your Woman MP forever," says Speaker Among

    The event highlighted the community's strength and solidarity, with Speaker Among commending Hon. Muhammad Ssentayi for his dedication to addressing the needs of his constituents.

    "I would like to express my gratitude to the wonderful people of Bukoto West for their energy and support during the launch of the Muhammad Ssentayi Foundation," said Among.

     

    She lauded Ssentayi's initiative, noting that such efforts are crucial for the community's development.The Speaker also extended her thanks to the numerous Members of Parliament and other leaders who traveled to Lwengo to support their colleague.

    "I am thankful for the kind gifts from the local community and for the esteemed Members of Parliament who came to show support for Hon. Ssentayi," she added.

    In a reassuring message to the electorate of Lwengo District, Among addressed the ongoing concerns regarding their Woman MP, Cissy Namujju, who is currently on remand in Luzira Prison over corruption-related charges.

    Namujju, along with Busiki County MP Paul Akamba and Bunyole East MP Yusuf Mutembuli, faces allegations of soliciting 20% of the Uganda Human Rights Commission’s annual budget from its chairperson, Mariam Wangadya.

    Among said, using a local proverb to emphasize resilience and hope. She assured the constituents that Namujju's political future remains secure.
