This week, Robert Kyangulanyi Ssentamu alias bobi wine was nominated as a presidential candidate to represent the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Shortly as they were leaving the electoral commission premises, his car was hit and the windows were broken and he was dragged out of the car.
He was beaten and injured alongside his team members Joel Ssenyonyi, Eddie Mutwe among others. Tear gas and rubber bullets became the order of the day as so many people were injured in the different areas they had collected themselves in to celebrate the big day.
General Keinerugaba Muhoozi, son of incumbent president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni posted on his twitter page threatening bobi wine and said he shall fight him in case he wants to disrupt the peace brought by the current regime.
This did not go well as outspoken NRM representatives such as Tamale Mirundi and Hajj Naduuli Abdul spoke in different interviews warning Muhoozi to stay away from Bobi wine.
They both called him (Muhoozi) very immature, ignorant and has failed to learn something from his father.
