After Azawi conquered the music scene with her master class “my year” she has kept throwing singles at us. The multi genre star with Strongly anchored roots in reggae dancehall as she performs a free style in that genre every once she is on stage has shared plans to release an album soon, but she has another single ready, titled ‘Slow dancing’ and produced at the Swangz Avenue studios.
‘Slow dancing’ is a slick reggae anthem with an uplifting vibe and the melody of the chorus will sound instantly disarms one into dancing. The beats thoughtfully assembled gets a listener to pick a few lines like “kwata ono..,tukikole mu pair..” which in direct translation means hold someone and let’s do it in pairs are some of the lines that can’t skip the listeners ear. It makes the song extra catchy and easy to sing along to though. Lyrically, the tune is about love in a sense of spending intimate time dancing. The lyrics are a bit silly at times, but the message is clear nonetheless. I can’t see this become a any less than a mega sized hit, one can’t help but get consumed by that enormous chorus.
