The worst kind of enemy anyone could ever have is one who has previously been your friend.
The relationship between National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and Bosmic Otim, a well known political figure in Northern Uganda was a bed of Roses until one day when things turned sour for them, leaving many people puzzled.
Otim's fallout with Bobi Wine was highlighted when he switched his capital to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) in 2024 from the opposing National Unity Platform. Having spent the previous two years in hiding because of the accusations against him, President Yoweri Museveni had personally welcomed Otim back to Uganda, promising to investigate the security forces responsible for his alleged mistreatment.
Otim had been ousted on allegations of possession of illegal firearms.
According to Bosmic Otim, Bobi Wine was to blame for his political downfall. He was quick to accuse the opposition leader of being nothing more than a a manipulative and opportunistic user for he had exploited him for his own personal political gain. Bosmic further stated that he was hurt when he realized how irrelevant he was to the NUP Camp after he was faced with torture and jail time while the NUP President was peacefully travelling and showcasing his lifestyle online.

Bosmic Otim has therefore come out and issued a clear warning to the NUP leader, urging him not to bother stepping foot in the Northern region because he is very unwelcomed there. He stated that if Bobi Wine even dares to go close the the Northern region, he will be taught a lesson he would never forget his entire life.
He further stated that he would be more than willing to mobilize local youths to confront Bobi Wine if he ever steps foot into the area.
Among the reasons he would never be able to forgive Bobi Wine, he stated was the kind of neglect the Northern region suffered from the opposition leader. He accused Bobi Wine of neglecting the region during its times of need and prioritizing his own tribe's interests over everything else. Otim further went on to recall the days when the Acholi people were suffering in IDP camps and pointed out that NUP never even lifted a finger to help out!
Otim further clarified that Bobi Wine's political agenda does not align with the interests of the Acholi people and everything he does is for selfish reasons, benefiting only him and his tribemates.
