Popular and trending Ugandan musician, Daddy Andre has been named as the reigning king of poor quality music videos in Uganda.
Andre who has been in the Ugandan music industry for over 10 years is now under fire from fans who are simply tired of the poor quality of music videos he releases from time to time.
And the most annoying thing about Andre's poor videos according to numerous fans is that the audio is always superb but dies along with a haphazardly done video.
In short, the video always embarrasses the audio.
One fan below after watching Andre's latest video, Omwana Wa Bandi went ahead to advise his artist as follows;
"Daddy Andre I am personally in love with all your Production skills.
You really transformed this industry but there is one thing I need you to wake up and change immediately coz no body is talking about it and is seriously degrading you.
Pliz and pliz don't disappoint us with these type of videos its not your class.
I am saying this coz am your big fun in fact you inspired me more in music production but I cant keep quiet and see my no. 1 producer falling because of poor video quality Otherwise the audio is as usual fire.
i love you brother."...said a one markinton baby on YouTube
But are Andre's videos really of poor quality
Well it depends on what you mean by poor because when you compare Uganda's videos from 2011, we can say Daddy Andre has high quality videos.
But if you're from watching Bebe Cool's Wire Wire and then you land on Omwana Wa Bandi is when you discover that Andre could be compromising abit on the quality he gives us.
Although it's not as bad as it seems, Ugandans generally aren't satisfied and they showed this mostly when he released his Andele song video which was trashed by nearly everyone who watched it.
Raba Daba, a local musician in an interview during the most recent Ramathan period, rubbished the Andele video saying the song's audio was very good but the video spoilt everything.
He said this as he was blaming Daddy Andre's record label, Black Market Records (BMR) that is in charge of shooting videos for both Nina Roz and Andre who featured on the song.
So is it Black Market Records making the poor videos
Yes and this is according to Raba Daba who confessed that at one time, when he was still signed under the record label, they shot 2 whole music videos for a meagre $1000 meaning each video costed $500! which is very low compared to the average market cost price of a good video in Uganda.
The two videos included, Wanchekecha (released in 2020) and Shoot Them All (released in 2019) which Raba Daba said are the reason why he left the record label that was too poor to invest in him.
Raba Daba futher said, Black Market Records cannot take Uganda's music anywhere because they are too poor to do so since they manage so many artists from various countries which constrains them financially.
