Bruce Campbell, a 64 year old retired electrical engineer was always creative since his early childhood. He was well known for his love for old things as well as creativity when it came to invention and innovation, no wonder he did well in his occupation as an electrical engineer.
In his early 20's, Bruce bought a 10 acre piece of land at a beautiful price of 23,000 dollars which was located in the woods of Hillsboro, Oregon in Portland. The initial plan for this huge piece of land he had acquired was to construct his dream home having made it clear that he wanted to build a unique home.
Bruce however got to hear about Joanne Ussery, a hairdresser from Mississippi who had bought a Boeing 727 plane and transformed it into a home after an unfortunate incident where her house went up in flames and burned down so she opted for a plane near the river kind of accomodation.
This created a new dream for Bruce and henceforth in 1999 he bought a Boeing 727 aircraft from Olympic Airways for 100,000 dollars. The transport costs were however a bit harsh on him and they amounted to a sum of 120,000 dollars since the aircraft had to be imported from Athens, Greece. He therefore incurred an incredibly handsome cost of 220,000 dollars for the plane which he believed was worth it.
Bruce originally maintained some of the areas of the plane for example some of the seats as well as the toilet. He added a washing machine and a sink, a microwave and toaster for cooking and he majorly eats cereals and canned food.
It is highly possible to make your dream home a reality. It just takes the right amount of courage.
