In a post released on his facebook page, National Unity Platform (NUP) party member and Kyadondo East MP Hon. Muwada Nkunyingi informed the nation that political critic Fred Lumbuye had been released.
"Our lead Lawyers in Turkey have today finally confirmed to us that LUMBUYE FRED was released from Administrative detention yesterday, Monday. Essentially LUMBUYE is now out of prison.
I want to thank Counsel ADNAN SAHIN and the rest of the legal team for the great legal efforts so far. I thank Ugandans globally for the solidarity i pursuit of LUMBUYE freedom. I thank the NUP diaspora chapters for the team work." reads part of the post.
Muwada went on confirm that much as Lumbuye had been freed, the charges against him will remain ongoing and the leagal team in Turkey is to remain committed as it has been to logically conclude on all legal details.
