How Catherine Kusasira was Abandoned by Close Friends
    • August 21, 2021 • 4 years ago

Ugandan musician Cathrine Kusasira a few days ago was abandoned by those she thought of as best friends.

This happened as she was celebrating her birthday two weeks ago. Having been born on 8th August 1982, Catherine Kusasira turned 39 years old, the same age as our man Bobi Wine.

On a day which means so much to her, she expected all her close friends to remember the day only to be shocked by the same people.

According to her interview with Spark TV, the bummy musician revealed how all her friends abandoned her on that fateful day and that she was only enjoying birthday wishes from her daughter, Finera Sserugga Nagayi who she lives with in the same house.

So this means her daughter, by fire or by force had to wish her mum a happy birthday otherwise risk, sleeping outside the house.

The same applies to Cathrine Kusasira's husband, Fred Seruga who also had to forcefully wish his wife a happy birthday or else risk missing on Catherine's goodies (if you know what I mean ?) for the next few months.

    Where were Catherine's friends

Most of them appeared to be hiding and definitely forgot the date on which she was born. Even after Cathy had posted pictures of herself wishing herself a birthday, many of them still failed to recognise it.

Starting with golden papa, Mesach Semakula. We are told, the legendary band musician did not at any one time call his long time friend to wish her a happy birthday. He did not even post a thing about her on social media and Kusasira revealed this in an interview with Spark TV.

She went ahead to mention other names like Geoffrey Lutaaya, Grace Ssekamatte and Carol Nantongo, Bebe Cool who all abandoned her sorry ass.

As she was still ranting about them, Ronald Mayinja who was almost being added on the list made a suprise attack. The veteran band singer personally delivered a well-baked cake to the bummy musician two days after her birthday.

Still other friends kept quiet ?

Even after seeing Mayinja's gesture, some of the human beings mentioned up there still kept quiet and didn't wish Catherine a happy birthday.

Cathy however says that they are all still her friends and that it doesn't matter who remembers her on such a day.

Most of them met her in the Eagles production band in the early 2000s and these include Grace Ssekamatte, Mesach Semakula, Ronald Mayinja, Fred Seruga (her husband) and Geoffrey Lutaaya.

The group was one of the best in the country at that time and it was ranked up there just next to the Afrigo Band of the Moses Matovus of this world but later dissolved to form Da New Eagles which is now led by Geoffrey Lutaaya and his wife, Irene Namatovu.

Could it be NRM that scared Catherine's friends away

The musician in the recent past has been a staunch NRM party supporter. Many people before the recently concluded 2021 general elections had hatred towards whoever was supporting president Museveni's ruling NRM.

The hatred was so bad to the extent of throwing bottles to singers while they performed on stage and this was because the ruling government had blocked opposition politician, Bobi Wine's concerts at that time.

Kusasira herself did not survive the "buccupa" (bottles) on stage after she was pelted at Nabugabo beach in December 2019. She was not alone but rather with the likes of singers Bebe Cool and Big eye who also enjoyed their shares of bottles.

So it's clear up to today, people have fear to associate themselves with Catherine Kusasira, worse still, celebrating her birthday.
