Veteran Singer Ronald Mayinja has finally come out to publicises his HIV status after a very long time of fake rumors being spread about him saying he is infected with the virus.
Word has been going around that his appearance makes his HIV status quite obvious and many 'online'doctors have been on his case since time immemorial, cornering him and telling him to admit that he is HIV positive.
Ronald Mayinja however was seen denying the accusations on sanyuka TV and he made it clear that his appearance should not ve used against him, confusing him to be infected. He went ahead to say that he was plunged into depression because he was falsely stigmized and it always made him uncomfortable to hear people call him sick yet he was completely fine. He said this made him uncomfortable in his own skin.
" I became so tired and even started hating myself because of the accusations. You can sing on stage and in the process some people tell you to go and die because you are sick!" He said
In the same spirit, fellow singer Mesach Semakula came out during an interview on the Spectrum show on Urban TV to defend himself again accusations of being HIV positive. He however did not say whether the rumor against him was true or not but he just went ahead to condemn everyone who was falsely spreading rumors about people's statuses.
He took the opportunity to also defend his long time friend Ronald Mayinja saying that he had grown up with him but had never seen him change size or color hence rumors about him baeing infected were baseless.
" We have grown up while being accused of being HIV positive but in all the years i have known Mayinja, i have never seen a fat Mayinja or one that changes color. They accuse the man for no reason because that is just his nature." Mesach said.
