Ever since Angella Franklin Keihongani Katatumba come out on her two legs and revelled how she has never held a mingling stick to cook, soap to wash her own nickers or do any kind of house work, it has been question mark after question mark with many peplexed by the kind of Woman or house wife she is.
During an exclusive interview with a local TV station, Angella Katatumba unveiled that she is the kind that wakes up early in the morning to look and hustle for money which according to her leaves her no time to get involved in the donkey house work.
As the world was still digesting in Katumba’s rare point of view, boom there came missing in action mother to Navio Margaret Blick Kigozi commonly known as Maggie Kigozi who added fuel to the fire by also revealing how she has never held a mingling stick to cook and has never looked for soap to wash her nickers.
The renowned medical doctor posted a picture of her and fabulous Angella captioning it,
“Alyssa happy to meet the fabulous #Angelakatatumba The two of us hustle and do not cook and wash”.
Being an increasing number of women who can’t cook, it raised national concern and as Nowviba we decided to look for answers on whether it really didn’t matter anymore for a woman to know how to cook.
What Does the Tradition Say.
According to most of Uganda’s traditions a woman is expected to not only cook but also serve her dear husband meals.
Its also an African setting that children especially girls have to learn from their mothers the where abouts of a kitchen.
Traditions also stress that what makes a woman is her ability to cook and take care of her husband and the entire family.
What Do Most Men Say.
Well most men accentuate that its nolonger just about women’s bodies, how they talk or make love, its jst about how they cook. (one way through a man’s heart is through his stomach).
Men continue to insinuate that the more tasty a woman’s food is, the more love and respect she earns from her husband and the community at large.
With the above men crystal clearly show that they cant waste time with women like Angella Katatumba and Maggie Kigozi who cannot bring a good meal on table because all they yern for is catering for them.
However, On The Other Hand Women Support The IDea Of Not Knowing How TO Cook.
Cooking shouldnt be a deal breaker especially if a man loves his woman, Men should look beyond that since life isn’t that serious because even times have changed in that women also work and relationships are becoming more of partnerships.
