Defence minister Hon Jeje Odongo had today responded to Ugandans demanding the release of political prisoners. After swearing in, Odongo stay that the government he serves has protocol it follows.
"We can't just release people like that without following procedures. Especially those suspected to have had intentions of disturbing peace." He said.
Over 100 people are still behind bars since the November incidents of last year and many of these are believed to be supporters of the opposition. NUP itself has about 30 prisoners still detained.
Among the people who've come out to ask for the release of detainees include cultural and religious leaders.
