Jose Chameleone Speaks Out On Shifting to NRM After Being Gifted New Car
    • September 20, 2021 • 3 years ago

Legendary singer, Joseph Mayanja well known as Dr. Jose Chameleone was yesterday gifted a brand new Range Rover - UBJ 415D by the NRM.

The car was handed over to the singer by Sedrack Nzaire Nowomugisha Kaguta commonly known as Mr. Toyota.

Surprised, Chameleone almost bent his knees to thank the NRM for the car. In his speech, the former Lord Mayoral candidate claimed he had never really left the NRM which will forever be his family.

He said he had his issues which made him switch to the Bobi Wine led NUP. He however deep down belongs to the yellow bus.

"My greatest witness can be Mr. Toyota, my friend, I am still your family I am still NRM, I’m not anywhere…straight-up. I was prodigal for a situation, I had my issues but I am still NRM." he said.

Shortly after receiving the luxury car, Chameleone came out to contradict himself saying being gifted the car was not politically intended.

According to him, he is simply favored by fortune and the car is therefore just a blessing to him.

He however was bitter against the National Unity Platform, accusing the party of neglecting him during his campaign for Lord Mayor, Kampala.

"Ugandans tend to think that everything done has a motive. This is not true. God gave me favor. Whether I was given a car or not it has nothing to do with politics.

The issue to do with my membership National Unity Platform I should say, I was not treated fairly in the party. I struggled in the campaign alone with no single support from the party. They sowed distrust.

The car is a blessing, I embrace it and appreciate it. For me what matters is the bond we have with the person who has given me the car it has nothing to do with politics." he said..

     Living Up to His name?

Jose Chameleoneseems to be living up to his name, Chameleone which directly refers to the kind of reptile that changes it's colors to survive.

It should be remembered that Jose joined Democratic Party in 2019.

When the People Power movement leadership led by Bobi Wne forged their own political party, National Unity Platform, Chameleon immediately jumped on board.

It thus remains a mystery which party the singer really belongs to.
