Few weeks after the traffic police was given a rather controversial new uniform, a khaki uniform with white straps around the ankles and no pockets in a move to fight road bribes, the third government arm, the Judiciary has also introduced uniforms to its staff.
Yesterday, the permanent secretary of the judiciary, Mr. Pius Bigirimana unveiled a staff uniform to be worn by the workers. The purple shirts will have staff names engraved on them.
Mr. Pius said the move is aimed at curbing corruption which seems to be on a ride in the organ as it will be easier to identify which staff member has taken the bribe. These uniforms are meant to be worn on every working day.
This however left Ugandans questioning the practicability of the move, Since its now even more easier for the law defaulters to identify the judiciary staff members and take off. What's your take on the men and women in purple?
