Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine, who's contesting for presidency of Uganda under the National Unity Platform party, was a few hours hosted on the Lutindo program on Radio Simba by Evans Walusimbi to discuss about his overview of the political situation.
Kyagulanyi addressed a number of things, from encouraging Ugandans to go in masses and vote, as according to him, this is their last hope of getting free from the current regime which he says has been destroying Uganda since 2001 elections.
When asked about his first things he'll do incase he's voted into power, Kyagulanyi said he has a lot of plans but unscrupulous taxes, freeing of prisoners who're innocently charged and bringing back term limits are on his front.
"I obviously have too much to work upon but there issues that give me sleepless nights. We have many friends of ours in prison who're innocently charged and imprisoned, our muslim brothers are being innocently charged every now and then.
I'll of course remove all these useless taxes put on Ugandans such as OTT. We have to bring back term limits. Ugandans have to know that they're now settled. It has to reach a time when even me I can no longer go against the constitution." Said Kyagulanyi.
While giving his closing remarks, he however hit on his fellow musicians who've gone silent over the arrest of Nubian Li and sir Dan Magic.
"Fellow musicians, when Nigerians Omah Lay and Tems got arrested here, y'all came out to talk about the act and called for their immediate release. Your fellow Ugandan musicians Nubian Li and Dan Magic were arrested for no reason but you're all silent. Come out and talk about this act too." He said while concluding.
It should however be noted that it's not the first time Ugandan artists have been called out over their silence towards injustices in the country. Let's hope this time they'll come out.
