After his arrest on Wednesday 18th which led to uprisings in different parts of the country that lasted till yesterday, today NUP party leader and presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has been brought to court.
The hearing which took place in Iganga chief magistrate court saw Kyagulanyi being charged with cases that involved breaking Covid_19 rules while carrying out his processions.
When asked about the charges, Kyagulanyi responded in a rather confident manner. "I'm not here because I committed a crime. I am here because I offered myself to lead Uganda into ending 35 years of dictatorship."
Kyagulanyi was later given a non cash bond of 1m and was also cautioned not to break the rules again.
