The mother to Kawempe North Member of Parliament, Hon. Mohammed Ssegirinya can no longer bear to see her son rotting behind bars.
The mother, Justine Nakajumba broke down in crocodile tears begging court to release her son saying that he was too sick to continue life in prison.
Ssegirinya, who was appearing before the Buganda Road Court chaired by Grade one Magistrate, Ms. Doreen Karungi denied inciting violence, an offence he was slapped with recently.
However, the state prosecutor, Judith Nyinamwiza told court that investigations into the case were still ongoing hence prompting court to remand Ssegirinya till October 29th.
Reacting to this announcement, Ssegirinya's mother cried out in tears and begged the state to forgive her son. She was supported by friends to walk following the judgement.
"Why? Why? Why? Please pardon my son. President Museveni please forgive my son, Ssegirinya. I beg you. He’s in so much pain and sick to continue being detained. I no longer eat food ever since he was arrested and remanded,” Nakajumba wailed.
Ssegirinya, who was recently detained on accusations of masterminding bthe Masaka murders was re arrested shortly after being released and slapped with fresh charges of inciting violence.
