Ailing legislators Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya will today, 39 days later since their release from prison make their maiden appearance in Parliament.
After spending close to two years in incarceration, the two MPs are also expected to make their first speeches on the floor of Parliament today afternoon.
Ssegirinya says that he will need guidance on where to sit while in Parliament because it will be his first time in, having been arrested at a time Parliament gathered in tents outside its premises.
He added that together with his colleague, they have alot to catch up with like the many projects they had started in their respective constituencies that were watered down due to their absence.
On part of what his priorities are as he steps on the floor of Parliament, Ssegirinya had this to say - "I will speak about my experience in prison and also talk about the conditions of prisoners. The day I was released, the prisoners told me to speak about their plights in jail"
In that same regard, Uganda Police warned the MPs not to engage in any procession as they make their way to Parliament-having received information that they had plans of holding an unlawful assembly over the poor state of Makindye Salaama Road.
Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson warned them against executing this their plan.
