Hillary Kiyaga, commonly known by his stage name Dr. Hilderman, was among the members of parliament who took their oath today and is a qualified honorable of the 11th parliament.
Kiyaga defeated hon Ameria Kyambadde who's also the minister of The in the highly contested Mawokota constituency on the National Unity Platform. He became one of the artists who won parliamentary seats alongside Geoffrey Lutaaya.
When asked his plans after taking the oath, confidently said his first priority are the people of Mawokota. "I'm a musician yes, but when in parliament, the issues of the people of Mawokota will always come first because it's them that voted me, not musicians." Said Hillary Kiyaga.
He didn't however rule out fighting for musicians' rights. "However, if issues concerning music and musicians are brought up, I'll surely add my voice because I'm a musician who knows the issues affecting the industry."
