While the rest of the world is preparing to head into the festive season, many people plan to head to their villages to spend time with their loved ones, health officials have come out to warn them against being reckless with their lives while we're still fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
While addressing journalists at the Uganda Media Centre in Kampala, Sate Minister for Primary Health Care (PHC) Margaret Muhanga reminded Ugandans that the deadly virus is still with us and keeps mutating everytime, so people should endeavor to at least get vaccinated before heading to their villages.
The country has already registered her first cases of the latest Omicron variant and while the Health Minister Jane Ruth Acheng came out to confirm that there'll be no more lockdown, Ugandans are known to get very excited and active during festive seasons and in doing so, theu SOPs might be foregone thus enabling more spreading of the virus.
So, with just a few days to the promised re-openning of the economy, we at Nowviba appeal to all Ugandans to enjoy but enjoy responsibly, so that the president is not forced to change his mind at the last minute.
