Hon. Ruth Aceng has enthusiastically welcomed her new appointment as coordinator of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) activities in the Lango sub-region, sharing her excitement on her X handle.
The official appointment was announced in a letter from the office of PLU General Secretary, David Kabanda, MP.Aceng will be assisted by Hon. Tonny Ayo in her new role. Other key appointments include Mr. Omara Joe Makin as secretary, Mr. Oyite Emmanuel as publicity officer, Dr. Lakisa Mercy representing the youth council, Hon. Olobo James Dubai representing the elderly council, Her Worship Alwedo Rebecca Ogole representing the PWD council, and Ms. Adia Rebecca Moro as the women council representative.
"The leadership of PLU is confident in the dedication and commitment of the above-mentioned individuals to our values of patriotism and combating corruption and wastage of public resources," Kabanda stated in the letter.
He further emphasized the importance of this team in driving transformation and socio-economic development in the Lango sub-region.
"We envisage this team significantly contributing to our efforts in engaging and mobilizing the citizenry in the Lango sub-region," Kabanda added.
Hon. Ruth Aceng, known for her dedication to public service, expressed her readiness to take on this new challenge.
"I am honored to be part of this noble cause. Together, we will work towards reviving the spirit of good citizenship and national pride in our community," she posted.
The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) operates under the patronage of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba and aims to revive in Ugandans a spirit of good citizenship, national pride, and national service.
The organization is committed to protecting vulnerable persons, combating corruption, preventing the wastage of public resources, and protecting the environment. PLU is non-partisan, non-denominational, and non-sectarian, making it inclusive of all Ugandans.
Kabanda's letter highlights the strategic importance of the appointments, particularly in the context of the PLU's broader goals.
"This is not just about appointing individuals; it's about creating a formidable team that will spearhead the fight against corruption and promote socio-economic development," Kabanda remarked.
