Mowzey Radio almost Killed Me in Mabira Forest - Chameleone
    • November 24, 2021 • 3 years ago

Popular Ugandan singer, Jose Chameleone has come out to confess how the late Mowzey Radio of the now defunct Goodlyfe group nearly killed him.

It all started when Radio had just acquired a brand new Jaguar car some years ago and took it first to Chameleone for official showing off purposes.

On a cold morning, he drove the car straight to Chameleone's home in Seguku along Entebbe road where he hooted endlessly once at the gate.

As soon as the people at Chameleone's house opened the gate, Radio drifted his new machine into the compound where he called up Chameleone to come and take a ride with him.

Mowzey was so happy and angry at the same time that he first thanked Chameleone for bringing him up musically when he was a nobody but at the same time, he also dissed him to the core by assuring him (Chameleone) about how he is very illiterate because when he (Radio) was in school, Chameleone was busy "shooting mangoes" .

Chameleone suggests the use of two cars

Our man, Chamiili as he is sometimes referred to, suggested to use his own car and follow Radio wherever he was planning to take him that day because obviously, Mowzey was already unsobber due to influence of alcohol.

Radio immediately rejected the offer saying that its him instead offering the ride and that Chameleone should humble himself as a normal passenger and enjoy the ride.

    Mowzey Radio almost kills Chameleone

Right in the middle of Mabira Forest, two Ugandan musical legends were travelling at dangerously fast speeds in a brand new Jaguar!

This is where Chameleone who had just left his wife and kids at home to ride with Mowzey ordered the pencil thin musician to slow down otherwise, that was to be their last day on planet earth.

After multiple warnings from the co-driver (Chameleone), the driver (Radio) instantly pushed the brakes hard, bringing the shinny new car to a screeching halt in otherwords, instantly stopping movement of his vehicle.

This is where he warned Chameleone to either get out of his car or accept to be driven at terrific speeds which according to me could have killed both Chameleone and Radio.

    Chameleone's Relationship with Radio

Jose Chameleone met Radio way back in the early 2000s and is directly responsible for naturing his talent.

This is because, he accepted Radio into his already existing Leone Island music group which was popular at that time competing with Bobi Wine's Fire Base Group.

Radio who started as a backup singer for Chameleone later met up with Weasel who was also just a backup singer and after 3 years is when they independently formed the Goodlyfe which made them to exit Chameleone's group instantly in 2008.

Beef started cropping up as soon as the Goodlyfe started making hit songs such as "Nyambura", "Zuena", "Nakudaata" and others because their group had now become a threat to Leone Island as a whole.

The two factions could nolonger see eye to eye and it is not until their musical battle in 2013 dubbed "Battle of Champions" that they made up with each other.

Considering the fact that one of Goodlyfe's members, Weasel is Chameleone's brother, their reunion was eminent. Remember the beef was mostly between Radio and Chameleone because Chameleone was definitely not beefing his brother.
