In a story we ran yesterday, leader of opposition Hon. Marthias Mpuuga and other opposition party leaders launched a move to cancel the minister of Security Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi through collecting signatures. The opposition leaders are accussing Min. Muhwezi for failling to curb the ever increasing injustices in the country such as terrorist attacks, killings among other.
While talking to media today, the NRM chief Whip, who is also the Member of Parliament for Ruhinda North county, Mitooma district rubished the move and called it a comic one. "Whenever there's an important discussion taking place in the August house, they (opposition leaders) move out of parliament in protest. Now they're collecting signatures to remove Maj. Gen from his position, This is so hilrious and impossible." he said.
He went on to say that since them (NUP) have 10% of the total parliament populations, now they are excited thinkng their signatures can help. He furthermore re-assured that this move won't go trhough no matter what will happens.
Mathias Mpuuga also respoded to Tayebwea, and said their target might not be really the topic but to collect these signatures and encourage more people to vote,.
