Liverpool boss Arne Slot is reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
The striker enabled Aston Villa to secure a Champions League spot with the 19 goals he scored in the Premier league.
Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move to Barcelona and Ollie Watkins is his most likely replacement if he decides to leave the club.
Nunez has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in his 36 Premier League appearances. He also scored six goals and provided four assists in the Europa League and EFL Cup.
Watkins has scored 27 goals in all competitions this campaign. His excellent form enabled him to earn a spot in Gareth Southgate's provisional Euro 2024 squad.
However, he is still battling with Brentford's Ivan Toney to be Harry Kane's understudy at the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
Watkins signed a new deal with Aston Villa last year in October that will run until 2028. Liverpool will have to pay a hefty fee to Aston Villa for his services.
ARSENAL SNUBBED BY JOSHUA ZIRKZEE
Arsenal are expected to sign a few more players in the summer to try and close up the gap between them and Manchester City.
The Gunners failed to secure the Premier League title again after finishing just two points behind Manchester City.
However, it seems one of their transfer targets, Joshua Zirkzee, is not willing to leave Bologna, his current club.
The Dutchman played a vital role in his club's journey to qualifying for the Champions league and has now revealed his intention to remain with the club for their European journey next season.
He said the following to Corriere di Bologna;
At the moment my mind is only in Bologna. I want to recover from the injury, have some nice holidays in the United States with my childhood friends and then we’ll see what happens. I’d choose the best for the club. I will only do what makes sense in my heart. Exactly, that’s what I said, and I’ll repeat it. It’s clear that for me it would be wonderful to defend this goal achieved together. What we experienced in Piazza Maggiore was unforgettable.
POTENTIAL MASON GREENWOOD AND JOAO FELIX SWAP DEAL.
It is reported that Atletico Madrid have offered Joao Felix to Manchester United as a part of their bid to sign Mason Greenwood in the summer transfer window.
Mason Greenwood spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Getafe. He is expected to leave Manchester United this summer. Many clubs across Europe have expressed their interest in him. Some of the clubs include Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Atletico Madrid. However, Atletico Madrid are the only team who have approached Manchester United for Mason Greenwood.
Joaa Felix also spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Barcelona.
Greenwood scored eight goals and provided six assists in 33 Laliga appearances for Getafe this season while Joao Felix scored seven goals and provided three assists in 30 games for Barcelona.
The deal looks like it will go through as both players are currently unwanted at their current clubs.
