Today marks the beginning of the fasting period for our Muslim brothers and sisters around the world.
This fasting period will be for thirty days.
During this time, Muslims will hold prayers at 3am and 7pm to start and break their fast respectively.
The Uganda Police force has therefore removed curfew for only the Muslims because their prayers are held communally and in the late hours.
A warning has been passed to other Ugandans who are trying to use this period to break curfew and commit crimes.
Those that aren't Muslim but are caught breaking curfew time will be arrested.
We would like to wish our Muslim friends a happy Ramadhan and may Allah reward you abundantly.
