The youngest presidential aspirant John Katumba popularly known as Katumba oyee   is afraid for his life because of the debt that has been engulfing him ever since the election period. He is afraid that the creditors are bound to use violence in order to retrieve their money hence posing a threat to his life.

The money that he is being demanded to him is  878 million Uganda shillings and it is said that he is swimming in such a debt due to the desire he had to aspire for the presidential seat.

"To challenge for the presidential post in this nation, finance is the main thing one should have." He said.

Katumba during an interview said that however much the law stated that every presidential aspirant had to be over 18years of age, it is always difficult for the youth to engage in the competition because in most cases, they are not very financially stable and yet finance is the most important factor.

He went ahead to say that running as an independent candidate was also very costly for him because he had to finance all his movements. He narrated that  even with the process of collecting the 20000 signatures which was a requirement by the Electoral commission, a lot of money was spent. He had to collect 100 signatures from each district hence they had to spend on fuel, food and the likes and to top it all, some voters requested for money before giving their signatures.

He also mentioned that he had to send polling agents to every station and every agent had to be paid at least 20000 per day hence his votes were sold off where he could not send polling agents. Katumba also mentioned that he was hoping to make money from his self published book but it has not helped.

"I am selling my book that I created months prior however it is not aiding as I had anticipated." He said
