Forum for Democratic Change former President and all time presidential candidate Cl. Dr. Kiiza Besigye took to the streets a few days back to protest over the increased commodity prices. Him, with other party members were arrested by the police and Besigye got detained at his home, where he's still under house arrest till now.
While many observoers might have seen this as eing business as usual, especially with the chaos always exhibited in protests, some officials didn't take the arrest lightly and have since then come out to share their disappointments towards the police.
The speaker of parliament, Hon. Anita Among is the latest to come out strongly and express her thoughts about the way Col. Besigye was arrested. While a parliamentary sitting today, the speaker said what the police did was so inhuman and uncouth.
"The way how police handled the arrest of Dr. Besigye was not right and it was against his human rights." Said the speaker. She farther instructed the Attorney General to advise different security organs on how to handle Ugandans, irrespective off their political affiliations because at the end of the day, we are all Ugandans.
Well well, are we now seeing a leader for all Ugandans or it's the same smear politics?
