KAMPALA, UGANDA | Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) has awarded Susan Kyokusiima, a farmer and bar owner from Mitoma District, a grand prize of Sh50 million after she was declared the overall winner of the nationwide Laga Swagga campaign.
Running for three months, the campaign saw thousands of participants across Uganda winning cash prizes, airtime, and various other rewards. Kyokusiima expressed her delight and gratitude upon receiving the prize, explaining that she initially joined the campaign just to win airtime.
“I noticed my customers participating in the Laga Swagga campaign and asked them to help me join. I only hoped for airtime, but look at the life-changing amount Uganda Breweries has awarded me! I’ve always enjoyed Uganda Waragi, but I never imagined I would win such a substantial prize. I thank UBL for this opportunity and encourage others to keep participating while drinking responsibly,” she said.
During the same event, Kavuma Matthews won Sh2.5 million, while Buyondo Douglas took home Sh500,000.
At the grand prize handover, Hillary Baguma, UBL’s Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits, reflected on the campaign's success. “The main goal of the Laga Swagga promotion has been to celebrate and give back to our loyal consumers, and we are thrilled by the overwhelming response. Our consumers are passionate about our brands, and this campaign has allowed us to engage with them in a meaningful way,” Baguma noted.
The campaign has showcased UBL’s spirits brands, including Uganda Waragi, Coconut, Lemon, Ginger, Bond 7, and Gilbeys, all while promoting responsible drinking and offering exciting rewards.
