1. Forget about it
It's easy to forget about Valentine's Day until a couple days beforehand. It kind of pops up out of nowhere. Wasn't it just New Year's?
2. Try to make reservations for dinner or a babysitter last minute
Don't be that parent who texts their babysitter at 5:48 for a 6:15 reservation.
3. Go overboard (in a new relationship
Definitely don't declare your love for someone just because it's Valentine's Day. Saying "I love you" should be unplanned and natural.
4. Buy fully blossomed flowers
This sounds weird — I know. But there's nothing worse than getting beautiful flowers that will last a couple days then rot away. I'd rather get budded flowers that I watch blossom throughout the week. If you want to do something different (that lasts), get an orchid or an actual rose plant.
5. Not know where you stand with your partner
The last thing you want on V-Day is to not know where you stand with your partner. Are we dating or just talking? Is dating the same as a relationship? Do I love him/her? Do they love me? Are we happy? You should really have an idea of where you stand with your partner. If you're confused, just talk to them. Don't beg or force an answer out of them because then you'll come across as needy.
6 Get a gift and a card last minute
Don't plan last minute. When has it ever gone well going into the drugstore last minute to buy a card?
