Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Uganda Baati Limited, a leading provider of building solutions, has launched a series of regional training sessions designed to equip fundis (builders) with the latest industry knowledge and market trends. This initiative aims to enhance the value these professionals deliver to their customers during construction projects.
Targeting over 2,500 fundis nationwide, these training sessions are part of Uganda Baati’s ongoing commitment to educate and support builders, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the evolving needs of their clients.
During a recent training session in Bulindo-Kampala, Patrick Katende, Head of Service Centers at Uganda Baati, commended the fundis for their dedication to quality service. He emphasized the critical role these sessions play in equipping fundis with the skills necessary for customer satisfaction.
“Fundis are essential in guiding customers towards informed product choices during construction. These sessions provide them with the latest updates on products, insights, and market trends, empowering them to succeed while enhancing the housing landscape in their regions,” Katende stated.
He added that the training focuses on roofing solutions and after-sales support, encouraging fundis to share their field experiences and customer preferences. This feedback helps Uganda Baati tailor its building solutions to better serve customer needs.
Participant Daniel Serunkuma, a builder based in Kira, shared his positive experience: “In the past, my clients imported roofing sheets from South Africa, which delayed my work. Now that I’ve introduced them to quality products from Uganda Baati and other local materials, the transition has been smooth, making my work faster and more efficient.”
Katende further emphasized the importance of keeping these professionals equipped and motivated, particularly as construction projects continue year-round. “We have great confidence in this network of fundis and actively recommend them to customers seeking expert assistance.
So far, we have conducted training in Hoima, Fort Portal, Mbarara, and various showrooms across Kampala, with plans to expand to Gulu, Arua, and Masaka,” he concluded.
