VIDEO REVIEW: Kapesa by Lydia Jazmine
    • October 2, 2021 • 3 years ago

Lydia Jazmine is one act that one can say is an icon of progress. Over time one can realise she has been focusing on her vocals and branding her self as not only a vocalist but also a fashionista. She has bounced back with a single titled ‘Kapesa’ a powerful musical force to reckon with especially for tiktokers who have made video after video lip syncing to the audio. Finally she has released the much anticipated Video.

‘Kapesa’ goes all through as an  R&B tune with a slick production, but has a surprisingly simple and singable chorus. Lyrically it is all about love and how she depicts quality time with her loved one whom she terms as her muse idolising him as having the right buttons to keep her falling in love which becomes vivid in the video, directed by Shasha Vybz. This video is a brash celebration of creation. Fashion. sexuality. and flair. Lydia Jazmine doesn’t disappoint with costumes and colour. The lighting through the motion picture are tactically attractive.

Jazmine is seen relaxing at the pouch watching the river nile flow. Choice of set was on point as it depicts a sort of vacation. The only downside is very short choreography scenes basically Jazmine with slight sexy movements.

She is also seen cuddling with her vixen whose facial expressions surely show a dedicated lover man. What matters most however is that the message of the song dropped in an unconventional, unapologetic, powerful manner.
