Comparison surely is the worst killer of them all. Trolls recently came out to call out Mpaka Records CEO Ykee Benda, telling him he has been silent for way too long when it comes to releasing new music. As if that was not enough, they said he has never held a concert of his own and the best he has done is curtain raising.
They came out in a bid to give singer Azawi her flowers after she held a successful concert yet again. You see, Azawi recently held another concert at Kampala Serena Hotel, which marked her second major concert since she entered the music industry back in 2019.
Whereas Ykee was also happy for Azawi, he could not bear the trolls pokes at him, telling him to emulate the female musician and also try staging a concert to revive his music career. This came about because Ykee Benda, has not held a big concert in his music career, hence for a long time now, he has faced criticism on social media where fans keep suggesting to him to emulate his fellow musicians that have staged concerts in this case, Azawi.
A very frustrated and probably red faced Ykee Benda took to social media to urge fans to drop whatever case they may have on him and stop provoking him. Ykee told these trolls that they could always appreciate Azawi without disrespecting him or any other musician for that matter.
According to Ykee, no one has the right to make comparisons between musicians because each one is at their own level. He then mentioned that these trolls should ask themselves what they have done with their lives instead of focusing on him because he runs the second biggest music label in the Country, something these trolls have not achieved.
“The biggest killer of happiness and purpose is comparison. You can give @AzawiOfficial her flowers without disrespecting anyone. With that said, now take a minute and ask yourself what are you doing about your life son/daughter? I run the second biggest music label in the country. The Key word here is “I RUN” and am talking about music label in the real sense of the word and not just any gang. Please respect !” he posted.
