Musician Henry Tigan may have been silent lately but he surely will not keep silent regarding the money that is meant to be received by the musicians' federation.
Eddy Kenzo's Uganda National Musicians' Federation received money totaling 5 Billion UGX from the Government any time soon. According to intel, this money is meant to help out with musicians' needs and helping them sort out any issues that they could be having as Ugandan Musicians.
There have been very many stories surrounding this money as very many musicians are waiting upon this money for each of them to get a share. However, it is not yet clear how the division of the money in question is going to be conducted. A few musicians believe that the money is going to stay within the Federation and only go out if there is a struggling musician that needs a little bit of financial aid in form of a soft loan.
Another section of musicians however would not agree with this( majorly the upcoming artists). They believe that they should receive a share in order to help them promote their music career or take care of issues related to their music career.
Journalists as ever are having a field day when it comes to questioning musicians about what they think of the funds that the Government is soon to release to the musicians. With every opportunity that journalists and Television hosts get with a Ugandan musicians they jump right onto the question, asking them for their view on this money and how it should be divided.
Musician Henry Tigan has also been questioned during an interview on Spark TV's daily soup show regarding this matter and according to him, he believes he is also worthy to receive a share of this money after all, he is a musician in Uganda too. When asked how much he is vying for, he was quick to respond that once he gets to know he entire amount he will know exactly how much he is entitled to get.
He then stated that if the money that is coming to the Federation is a huge amount, he could as well be given shs.500 million Ugandan shillings from the Uganda National Musicians Federation because he totally deserves it.
“I believe I should also get a share of that money. I am a musician and I am also a Ugandan. Since the money was allocated to Ugandan musicians, I believe my share is also included so I will also claim for it. I am not sure exactly how much we are meant to receive but if it is a hefty sum, I could possibly ask for 500 Million Shillings. Is that too much?” Henry Tigan prompted.
