Talented and gorgeous singer Lydia Nabawanuka, popularly known by her stage name Lydia Jazmine is one of the female Ugandan musicians who have dedicated more than a decade to their music careers.
In March this year 2024, she even celebrated her first-ever concert. The concert was held at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
Being a celebration of ten years in the game, Lydia Jazmine came big at this concert.
She exceeded everyone's expectations with her remarkable performances, captivating the audience with her stunning attire.
Throughout the event, she effortlessly changed her outfits a minimum of five times, showcasing her versatility.
The hundreds in attendance showed their unwavering support, while fellow artists joined her on stage, creating memorable collaborations.
Additionally, many individuals demonstrated their financial support by purchasing tables. This celebration truly highlighted Lydia Jazmine's success and the immense admiration she has garnered over the past ten years.
Despite her long-standing involvement in the industry, the singer feels that she hasn't attained any concrete accomplishments.
Taking part in an interview with NBS After5 crew, the Kapesa hit maker mentioned that none of her dreams have materialized, and she remains in a state of anticipation.
"We have different plans and dreams. Personally, I have not achieved any of the dreams for which I joined the industry,"she said on June 11.
Jazmine is determined to continue working tirelessly until she realizes her dreams and achieves the success she desires.
Facts you didn't know about Lydia Jazmine
Lydia Jazmine, a female recording artist from Uganda, was born in Masaka in 1991.
She began her education at Victoria Nile School for elementary school before transferring to Saint Mary's School Namaliga in Kimenyedde sub-county, Mukono District.
She completed her high school education at Cityland College Matugga in Matugga, Wakiso District. In February 2016, she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management degree from Multitech Business School in Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city.
Jazmine's musical journey started in high school when she joined the school choir and later the church choir at the Passover Harvest Centre and Watoto Church.
After graduating from high school, she became a background vocalist for the band Gertnum. Subsequently, she was signed as a back-up singer by the music group Radio and Weasel, contributing to songs like "Ntunga" and "Breath Away".
She also provided background vocals for artists like Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi. Her debut single was a duet with Rabadaba titled "You Know", released around 2014.
