We all recall when Eddy Kenzo sung a collabo with Mickie Wine, right? This song was called ‘Yanimba'. The song was well received by the public considering that the two artistes were loved and the song turned out so well that everyone loved it.
According to Eddy Kenzo, the great rift between him and Mickie started with the money that was collected from that song. Since the song did well, it generated good money but Mickie was too selfish he did not want to share the profits with Kenzo, something that saw their friendship come to an end.
Keep in mind that Mickie Wine and Eddy Kenzo began their music career together at Firebase crew and they have that collabo ‘yanimba' to thank for their rise to stardom since the song dominated airwaves across Uganda.
It was noted that Eddy Kenzo quit Firebase just months after the release of the song hence parting ways with Mickie Wine. According to Kenzo, the separation was inevitable because Mickie Wine was too selfish with money, failing to share all the profits they collected from the song in question
Eddy Kenzo recollects that it was Mickie Wine who was responsible for collecting money from promoters as well as event organizers but he decided to keep all the money to himself.
"Money separated me and Mickie Wine. He was the successful one at that time so the promoters used to go through him if they wanted us to perform the song. However, he never cared about me, and I was never receiving money, so I had to move on and start a new life," he stated.
