Following the president's directive to resume school after their closure on 18th/March/2020, schools have resumed today under strict rules. Streets today have been flocked by students dressed in their uniforms, many looking stranded. However, following the government's instructions, no school is allowed to open for candidates unless it has met the minimum requirements among which are provision of sanitizing area, masks and sanitizers.
Much as these are hard times for schools, they're hard times for parents too. Most parents have been financially hit by the lockdown, given most of their businesses have almost completely shut down. A one Joseph Ssendikwanawa, a father of two candidates in Kiboga town council had this to say about the situation, " the return of students to school is a nerve-wracking situation. Most parents planned to send children back to school in January not October!"
With schools telling parents to report with fully paid fees for their children, this leaves parents in a corner of leaving their kids home or go for loans to take them to school.
