During an interview with Sanyuka Tv, entertainment critic Jenkins Mukasa advised Sheilah Gashumba and her ex-lover Rickman Manrick to desist from the tendency of sharing their relationship issues in public.
Jenkins believes that since no Ugandan told Sheilah and Rickman to fall in love, their relationship problems concern no one in the country and they should thus keep them to themselves.
Recall that for the past three years, Sheilah Gashumba and Rickman have been one the celebrity power couples in the country. Their relationship was very public because they are all public figures.
Sheilah Gashumba started a romantic relationship with Rickman in 2020 after breaking up with socialite Ali Marcus Lwanga, famously known as God's plan.
They used to hang out and after her break up, he was their for her and that’s how they ended up dating.
Their relationship was slapped with a lot of criticism from the social media in-laws and even also Sheilah Gashumba's father. However, they managed to handle the situation and stuck together for some time.
On 11 May, Sheilah Gashumba came public and revealed that her relationship with Rickman had come to an end.
In a statement she shared on X formerly identified as Twitter account, Gashumba noted their breakup was out of a mutual decision that took much reflection and consideration.
She also highlighted being single and how she will henceforth navigate the next chapter of her life on herself, focusing on personal growth, career aspirations and friendships.
A few days after their breakup, Rickman also ended the two year working contract with Sheilah Gashumba's management.
In a statement released on X handle, the singer revealed that he would no longer be under Sheilah's management before thanking her for pushing his craft.
Now according to Jenkins Mukasa, Ugandans have so much to deal with. The last thing they want to hear is Rickman and Sheilah’s break up. He said when they were dating, they didn’t inform anyone and they should do the same when they break up.
“I don’t think any Ugandan is willing to hear about the break up of Sheilah Gashumba and Rickman. It is nonsense for them to tell the public that they have broken up when they didn’t inform anyone when they were starting to date. Ugandan have so much to concentrate on ,” he said on Thursday, May 30.
