Musician Cindy Sanyu has something to say about what really makes a musician.

For Cindy Sanyu, it will always  be talent that makes a musician above anything else. According to Cindy however, it is quite unfortunate that there are very few talented people that deserve to be called musicians in the Ugandan entertainment industry. She stated that the industry is filled with music ‘clones' who only try to mimick what they, the real artistes have upheld as true music.

According to Cindy, many musicians today focus more on their physical appearances and ongoing trends rather than true talent to make it in the entertainment industry and it is a pity that music lovers entertain this.

Cindy Sanyu has stated that she believes music should solely be based on talent and the major virtue and the rest could always come later after talent has been prioritized. Cindy stated that she does not disrespect anyone's efforts when it comes to music but she will still emphasize how important talent is for a musician.

Cindy stated that in all her years of training, she has suffered with untalented musicians and therefore she knows the pain of dealing with untalented people. According to her, one's talent can be groomed over time with training and determination.

“There’s a big difference between talent and skill. To me, talent comes in first, second, third, and then the other features can come later. Before we find out if someone can dance, or whether they’re pretty and big bummed, their talent should come in as first priority. We shall see about their beauty later.” She stated.

Cindy further mentioned that she takes a lot of pride in the fact that she has horned her talent over time and she can feel power whenever she is performing. Cindy stated that she feels proud every time she sings and a person close to her gets into her voice flawlessly.

“You don’t know how powerful one is with talent. I have been dealing with untalented people and it is quite hectic. You could never guess how proud I feel whenever I start to sing and Jackie flows right into her voice effortlessly. I feel so proud about that.” Cindy stated

Cindy Sanyu is one of the most talented female musicians and she has undoubtedly stayed on the top of the music charts for quite a while.  While many people would conclude that this criticism is hurled at her nemesis Sheebah Karungi, Cindy has made it clear that it is a message for many people in the music industry.
