Students of last year's Uganda Certificate of Education Exams that were sat in October and November do not have to wait any longer after anticipating so much for their results.
Official communication to the press from UNEB has confirmed that the 2017 UCE results will be released come Wednesday morning 11am by the Minister of Education in conjunction with UNEB.
However last year's exam period was rocked by severe cases of malpractice where by UNEB nearly halted the entire exam sitting process. Exams of multiple subjects were circulating on social media hours before they were actually done.
The (Uneb) executive secretary, Dan Odongo said at that time that preliminary investigations traced the leakage to storage station in Busesa where a scout who was sent to guard the exam confessed that he was paid Shs 1 million to give his keys to perpetrators of the fraud.
Making the situation worse Odong said this shortly after the confession
"Until the impact is established, we shall not know what appropriate measure to take to handle the after effect of the exam. So for now we do not know whether we shall cancel the exam or reduce or increase the pass mark. We shall only know what to do after we establish what can be done."
So s4 candidates of last year have been on tenter hooks the entire time and some on social media confessed that they could not find sleep just thinking about the worst that could happen to them.
