Alpha 'Thiery' Ssali shines as Express FC beat Bright Stars
    • October 23, 2023 • 1 year ago

Express Football Club's youngstar Alpha "Thiery" Ssali's lone goal was the match winner for Red Eagles on Saturday as they faced off against the stubborn Soltilo Bright Stars at Muteesa II "Wankulukuku" Stadium.

Ssali's screamer inside the penalty box came in the 3rd minute of the first half, after capitalizing on Bright Star's Cleophas Fiat’s poor ball clearance steps away from the goal line. https://x.com/UPL/status/1715718639041548375?s=20

The visitors had a rough 90minutes, thanks to the well composed play form Express FC's players. Bright Stars captain Nelson Senkatuka's long-range shot in the 30th minute was the closest to goal the visitors had and was punched away by Express' goalie Abdul Kimera.

Saturday's win saw Express go into the third position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League Table with 10points after 4games while Bright Stars sit in the 13th position with only 2points.
