After many years of scratching and digging around, Bebe Cool's son, Allan Hendrick Ssali has finally released a hit song that fans will not forget any time soon.
Allan who calls himself Paper Daddy released a song titled "We Are Tired" about a month ago and after being met by criticism from all over the place as usual, the song has finally hit people's ears.
As usual, Ugandans who are stubborn did not want to listen to it in the first place because on mere sight of the musician, Paper Daddy, they are reminded of his father Bebe Cool whom they allegedly hate so much.
I say allegedly because people actually love Bebe Cool but they be here pretending.
What forced Ugandans to take a listen then
Paper Daddy who was trying his best to push the song soon after releasing the video created some fuss and it's this that led people to actually listen and find out what his new song, "We Are Tired" is all about.
The fuss started when fellow singer AgaNaga took a swipe at Paper claiming that his song was bad. AgaNaga went ahead to advise Paper Daddy to leave the Reggae genre in which the song was recorded in because he was spoiling the genre's standards.
The fuss got worse when DJ Roja also did something unexpected. Live on NBS TV's SNL show, the seven-star DJ left the decks as soon as Paper Daddy was announced as the next act on stage.
The "We Are Tired" hit maker was left all alone on stage without a DJ or even music playing, an experience he is not forgetting soon. Soon after the show he posted an old photo of DJ Roja captioning it, "Enemy of Progress" .
Is the song nice
Given that I am now giving it hit status, Paper Daddy's song is actually a master piece according to online reviews. Many people say without watching the video that someone can think its Bebe Cool, his father singing, because the singer rhymes very well with the lyrics and the reggae beat.
And guess what, he sounds just like Bebe Cool as he talks about problems affecting his motherland, Uganda especially those surrounding the current situation of Corona virus.
The song comes after so many years of trial and error on Allan Hendricks' side. The musician who joined the music industry not so many years ago has been desperately searching for a hit song to match his father's standards.
When did he start singing
Allan started singing about 5 years ago in 2016 when he released Omukwano Gwo at the age of 20 years. Ever since then, he started moving around with father, Bebe Cool during performances to get the first hand stage experience.
It's from here that Bebe would introduce him to the audience after his performances to make him known to the wider population.
Although he is a software engineer by qualification, the young lad has chosen a career in music not to be like Bebe Cool but he draws a lot of inspiration from him.
