Last year in December 2023, former Blu*3 lady singers Cindy Sanyu, Lilian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru announced that they were bound to have a sort of a reunion in form of a concert at Serena Hotel on 8th March 2024 which was meant to be a Women's day concert.
They were asked whether this was a permanent reunion and they clearly stated that it was just an event for women’s day to promote women empowerment as well as show the contribution of women to the Ugandan Music industry.
Cindy Sanyu further explained that they were not reviving the girl group but rather it was a one day thing and also an income earning venture. According to Cindy, a girl group needs a lot of time and effort and all the three ladies have way too many engagements they could not be able to handle the responsibility that comes with a group.
The sad news is however that there are allegations of the cancellation of this Women's day concert but the definite reasons are not yet clear. According to corridor talk however, it has been alleged that the three musicians failed to reach an agreement with their promoter and the promoter therefore backed off from the show, something that has affected them.
Other sources have however come out to reveal that the promoter did not back out of he show but rather just delayed in booking the venue and it was signed off to another musician who came a little earlier than they did. We shall keep you posted as we gather more information on this matter.
