Uganda's most popular musicians also known as the big three, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool and Chameleone are at war once again and this time It has to do with begging.
With each of them having gained more than 20 years experience of their singing careers, Ugandans are shocked to hear of the news that all the three are involved in grand begging schemes.
And after begging, the three keep pointing fingers at each other that the other is begging. Although Bobi Wine has not been involved in the begging accusations, he just touched the fire this week when he castigated Chameleone for accepting to beg money from General Salim Saleh in Gulu last weekend.
Analysis of how the big 3 Ugandan musicians are begging
1. Bebe Cool
Bebe Cool who is the noisiest among the clique has earned himself the crown of begging in Uganda. With his frequent meet-ups with the head of state, President Museveni, the musician has time and again been called a beggar by Ugandan music fans.
Big Size as he calls himself has been shooting quite expensive videos since the time of his hit song, "Love You Everyday". This has gotten people over the years, wondering how he is able to afford various locations in the likes of USA, South Africa, Kenya where his videos are shot.
It prompted many spectators such as King Saha to label the musician as a beggar because he allegedly obtains all his money and current lifestyle from the government.
He has been spotted with Museveni like a billion times with his most recent time in April this year when Akon was in the country. Bebe went to state house with his wife to beg for money as he pretended to be accompanying Akon to the president's residence.
Bebe Cool who we once saw receiving a fat envelope from the president during his Golden heart concert in 2018 also received a brand new car at the end of 2019 still from the president after several meetings with him and its from here that Ugandans labelled him a certified beggar.
And now he is the same person who came out yesterday to call Bobi Wine a beggar in his reply to his post attacking Chameleone.
2. Jose Chameleone
Joseph Mayanja also known as Chameleone, is one person that is very confusing and this is probably attributed to his name which belongs to an animal that is ever changing colors.
Chameleone has been cited various times with big shots in Government and many people that have money. Some of these people include Sipapa whom Chameleone was best friends with before they broke up in 2017.
The singer used to move with Sipapa even up to the toilet (joking) just because he wants to have a taste of his money. Chameleone also during the good days of tycoon Bryan White, allegedly stole money from the tycoon as they were serving it out to needy people.
At that time also in 2017, Chameleone was always seen around the pencil thin tycoon begging for money endlessly until fellow musician King Michael who took over as the official beggar of Bryan White thereafter.
Even during the famous tubonga nawe project in 2015, Chameleone was actively seen spearheading the movement to create a song for the president whom he would proceed to get money from thereafter.
3. Bobi Wine
Although Bobi fans hate to see this analysis, the truth is that the former presidential candidate is also a beggar.
The ghetto gladiator as he calls himself is different from the others in a way that his begging is on another level both in terms of money and geographical coverage.
Bobi according to events promoter Bajjo, is an international beggar by all standards. He is more advanced, sophisticated in all begging aspects and is said to have beaten Chameleone and Bebe Cool by far in this game of begging.
Although we don't normally see him begging, Bobi Wine ever since 2015 has been seen to be getting richer and richer. Yes it's true he already had a lot of money before but after that year, he became filthy rich when he started interacting with White people in random water, hygiene Non-government projects.
The extent to which Bobi Wine is rich was seen especially in 2020 after he was able to facilitate an entire campaign season of his NUP members who never lacked despite being banned from making any money from his musical concerts by the government of Uganda in 2019.
He later went ahead to obtain a fleet of cars for himself which included a bullet proof vehicle which he claims was donated to him but many people argue that he bought it.
Whether he bought or received it as a donation, the fact remains that this car costs over 1 billion shillings meaning the sponsors he is begging from are very rich.
