Husband to gold medalist, Chemutai Peruth has written to the Inspector General Of Police requesting police protection.
The husband, only identified as Cherop expressed concern that several men had to frequently pass his home and he is worried they could be after his wife.
"They pass here hissing a the time and I'm worried they are after my wife "" he wrote in his letter to the IGP.
He thus requested the IGP to authorize the Police's anti terrorism unit to be deployed at his home so as to ward off any threat from the men.
"It is my humble plea that you authorise the anti terrorism force to protect us from such men. Peruth is mine but now every man wants her." Cherop further wrote.
He admitted that he could have written to the President to deploy SFC soldiers but being the humble man he is, he decided to settle for Police.
"I could have asked for SFC from the President but I'm being humble like my wife. Do only send Police dance my wife is an officer too." reads Cherop's letter.
Recently, Peruth Chemutai represented Uganda in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics which saw her emerge winner for the women's 3000 metres race. Her husband continues to worry other men may snatch her.
