Chief justice suspends all court hearings due to Covid-19
    • June 7, 2021 • 4 years ago

Following the presidential address yesterday about Covid-19 that saw him suspended a number of things like schools, churches and mosques, the chief justice has today followed suit.

The chief justice Alfonse Owiny Dolo has of today 7th/June/2021 suspended all court hearings in the whole country for a period of 42 days, citing the increasing cases of covid-19.

In an article released, justice Dolo stated that the reason for court suspension is to help curb the high spread of covid-19, which seems to be overwhelming.

This however didn't sit well with some Ugandans who have relatives/friends/comrades in detention and their court hearing was due. These said the hearings would've been held virtually like it has been before.

These called the suspension unfair and inconsiderate. What do you have to say about the judge's decision?
