Chelsea will move for £60 million rated French winger Michael Olise regardless of who they will appoint as their new manager.
Chelsea were interested in Michael Olise last summer before he extended his contract with Crystal Palace.
Kieran McKenna, Enzo Maresca, Thomas Frank and Roberto De Zerbi seem to be the names under consideration, however, a decision is expected to be made soon on who will be the next Chelsea manager.
Even with the club lacking a manager at the moment, they are desperate not to miss out on the 22 year old Crystal Palace winger.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United and Liverpool also want Michael Olise but it seems clubs in the Champions league have the edge in the transfer as the attacker is keen to play Champions League football.
However, that won't stop Chelsea who remain hugely impressed by his performances. Olise has scored 10 times from 14 league starts and has also provided 6 assists throughout the course of the recently concluded campaign.
Oliver Glasner, the Crystal Palace manager, remains confident that Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Jean Philippe Mateta will still be at Crystal Palace for the coming season.
However, Oliver Glasner joked that Crystal Palace would be able to buy a new stadium if they were sold.
He said the following;
I am very confident they’ll be here because they have contracts and no one has told me they’ll be leaving. I think what we have done is that we have shown them that Crystal Palace have ambition. We have shown them how we want to play, which path we want to go down, which journey we want to ride together. They can show their strengths, qualities and personalities and express themselves. They fit together. This is what we can do. If something else happens, then this is football. But Crystal Palace will be able to build a new Selhurst - because it will cost a lot of money.
EMILE SMITH ROWE SITUATION AT ARSENAL
Due to injury and the impressive form of the players ahead of him in the pecking order, Emile Smith Rowe has struggled to play for Arsenal this season.
When Mikel Arteta had just been appointed as the Arsenal manager, Smith Rowe was one of the most important players but his poor fitness record caused him to lose his place in the first team.
It has been reported that Smith Rowe has recently held talks with Arsenal regarding his future. It has been revealed that the situation remains open.
Fabrizio Romano made the following statement regarding the situation;
I’m aware of talk of a meeting being scheduled between Emile Smith Rowe and Arsenal, but my understanding is that nothing has been decided on this yet. I think it’s an open situation based on proposals, but at the moment I’m still hearing it’s a quiet situation. Let’s see in the next weeks if clubs join the race.
