* Supreme court yet to decide on Trump's immunity against election subversion charges.
* The former president has pleaded not guilty for all the charges pressed against him.
* The Supreme court ruling could even be further extended to beyond next year's presidential elections.
The Supreme Court's decision not to rule quickly on Trump's election subversion charges may help delay his trial according to ex- prosecutors who even claim will only put the inevitable and could even backfire on the former president in terms of timing his White House campaign next year. The Supreme Court's justices sidelined to rule on whether Mr. Trump was immune from prosecution, turning down special counsel Jack Smith's request to take up the matter in an expedited manner and not giving vivid explanation thereafter. Like wise the special counsel's office has not yet commented on the decesion which is seen as a major in Smith's case against Donald Trump.
The period for which the trial will occur is uncertain to whether it maybe delayed or maybe pushed beyond the 2024 election of which Mr. Trump is currently the front runner for the Republicans against Joe Biden in the polls that will be conducted in November next year. The special counsel vindicated the Republican of conspiring to overturn the results of the last election which led to the storming of the U.S capitol building, an event that had never been witnessed before in the history of American politics. This is one of the three election subversion charges that Trump faces with one to do with hush money and tendering out classified documents.
A win for Trump in the matter may be most likely as he argues that he held a very vital position by the time of the riot which saw many American citizens storm the Capitol building in Washington D.C in a fit to show their alignment with Trump against Biden who had won the 2018 presidential elections. This makes Trump the 2nd president to face the U.S supreme court after Richard Nixon which led to the release of the Watergate tapes which turned out to be a bizarre for Nixon's term as president and forcing him to later re
